Sydney Hair Extensions: Reasons to love Clip In Hair Extensions

Clip In Hair Extensions from Sydney's Detail Woman
Detail Woman can help you with your clip in hair extensions!
Any Sydney fashion maven knows that trying to keep up-to-date on the newest hair trends can be hard at best. One day it's short and chic, and the next day long, curly locks are all the rage! This presents a pretty obvious problem: while it's always possible to go shorter, it's not so easy to recover from a major length reduction. It's an issue which can easily be addressed though, with clip in hair extensions.

Hair extensions are the perfect way to get the length that you need for your desired hair style. You can have your hair extensions applied in comfort at Detail Woman. These "instant makeover" hair extensions may end up being your new best friend! Here are four major benefits you'll enjoy:

1. They Give You Greater Hair Versatility

The obvious selling point. Clip-in hair extensions allow you to switch hair styles as often as you want. You can be a pixie-cut punk, curly-mopped disco diva, and coiffed urban-dweller all on the same day! The key is that they can be styled any way your normal hair can, so the possibilities are truly endless. You can even experiment with different colours and treatments, as clip-in hair extensions are easily dyed and permed (when they're made from human hair, not synthetic).

2. They Take Less Time to Apply

Remember when hair extensions meant spending a whole day at the hair salon? Well, with clip in hair extensions your application time is greatly reduced. Once our hairstylists have shown you how to apply your clip-in hair extensions in the most efficient manner, and in a way which best suits your natural hair, you can install and remove them yourself in the comfort of your own home.

3. They Can Be Temporary

It's all too common for women to decide to trade their long hair for a shorter style, only to chicken-out at the last minute. When it comes down to the crunch (or the cut!) saying goodbye to a year's worth of hair growth can be a bit traumatic. Clip-in hair extensions allow you to stop worrying about taking the plunge. You can experiment with shorter styles all you want; if they don't live up to your expectations, long hair is just a clip away.

4. They're Easy to Use and Maintain

There's been a long history of deception when it comes to hair product advertisements. What looks effortless in the commercial ends up involving hours of straightening and blow-drying, and the results are never the same as promised. Well, while clip-in hair extensions aren't as easy to apply as the infomercials may suggest, they're actually fairly simple and you should be able to work them out pretty quickly. If you've ever operated a clothes-pin before, these products work using similar principles. Just clip under your hair and go; you'll be enjoying your long locks in no time.

What to Expect upon Removal of Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are a great way to give you longer, fuller hair instantly. This is a convenient addition to your look for special occasions such as proms, weddings and much more. However, once the event is over, you need to know what has to be done in order to take the hair extensions out in a safe and effective manner. Knowing what to expect and having some tips that will help you with the removal will give you the ability to remove them without causing damage to your natural hair.

What to Expect upon Removal of Hair Extensions

Removing pre-bonded hair extensions or any other sort of keratin-bonded hair extension with a nail tip can be a relatively easy process once you have an understanding of how it is done. These hair extensions can usually be worn for anywhere between three and four months as long as they are well taken care of.

Keratin Bond Extensions

The sectioning of the hair is done to help make sure that the hair is much easier to manage. Simply by using your fingers, feel around for the top row that is around the top portion of the head, and expose the bonds that are underneath. You need to work on crushing the bond with each hair extension one at a time. This can be done easily by using small pliers to gently squeeze the bond a couple of times, which should start to loosen its grip. You can then apply a hair extension removal solution on each bond so that it can be freed.

If you happen to feel some resistance as you pull the extension away, simply add another drop or two of solution so that the extension slides off. You need to be sure that that you do not brush the hair to try to remove any bond residue or shredded hairs left behind. This can cause damage to your own natural hair. Removing the residue should be done by gently pulling down from above the bond, taking just a couple of hairs at a time. Repeat until all of the extensions and residue is completely removed.

Sewn In Extensions

Simply section the hair, and then gently pull on the thread using your fingers until the extension starts to come apart from the braided track. If the extension is not ragged or damaged when you remove it, you can potentially set it aside and use it again at a later date. You can then carefully brush through your hair and should wash and treat your hair with a high quality conditioner to make sure that your natural locks remain nourished and healthy.

Basically, you are going to find that the better care you take of your extensions while you have them in, the better the condition of your natural hair will be. If you are unsure of the best way to tackle the removal of your extensions, it is going to be best to enlist the help of a professional who has experience with them instead of trying it on your own.

Healthier Skin Means Healthier Living

The results are in from an exhaustive search that has been conducted since time immemorial and spans all continents and all known ingredients: there is no way to stop the aging process and its effects on the skin. Nevertheless, the very same search for perpetually beautiful skin has produced the most essential rules for keeping skin supple and beautiful for as long as possible.

Skin Clinic - Healthier Skin Means Healthier Living

The following are 3 essential rules for keeping your skin as healthy as you can for as long as possible:

Rule #1:  Rays Today – Raisins Tomorrow

The most important rule for maintaining beautiful skin is something most of us heard from our mothers as a kid: “Watch Out for the Sun”. This still holds true today; never brave the strength of the sun's rays without sufficient protection. Apply sunscreen, and keep your body thoroughly hydrated to minimise the risk of solar exposure (i.e. Drink lots and lots of water).

Did you know people operating at higher altitudes are at an increased risk? This applies as much to people living in elevated cities as it does to those men and women frequently moving about from place to place in an aeroplane.

Flight attendants and pilots are actually at an increased risk of melanoma due to the strength of solar rays in their work environment. If you are a frequent flyer, you should consider this and take action to protect your skin.

How can frequent fliers protect themselves from the sun while on board a plane? Say “No, Thanks!” to the peanuts! Salty foods dehydrate the skin making it more susceptible to UV rays. Canned air is equally harsh on the skin, so cream up before take off, especially with a 15 SPF sunscreen.

Rule #2: You Are What You Eat

If you are biased to greasy, crispy foods, you can expect this to be reflected in your skin. If you want your skin to appear healthy, alive and supple for as long as possible, take in foods that are healthy, alive and supple. Isn’t the first thing that comes to mind fruits?

Papaya is everything you want in your skin and contains all the nutrients to deliver. I would dare say that a diet containing a full cup of papaya per day is conducive to an excellent complexion for life. Just don’t forget the citrus fruits, strawberries, plums and bananas, too!

Avoid processed foods and foods with salt, as well as the consumption of alcoholic beverages that can take years from your skin's life and successfully prevent your skin from regenerating.

Rule #3: No Anger, Bitterness, Glaring, Glowering, Moping or Fretting

You want the real secret to timeless beauty that pervades the skin and radiates from somewhere deep inside? Smile, Smile, Smile!

Stress kills – it really does – and the first place the dying appear to be dying is in their fallen expressions. Carrying around tension and anger releases toxins into the blood (Cortisol) that flatten collagen in the skin which effectively saps the elasticity.

Is stress killing you? Start living again! Get help, get out of your routine or take up a class. Yoga, soccer, archery or some other physical activity that takes your mind to new levels is just what you need. Finding the right way to release negativity is the best way to keep it from making an ugly appearance in your skin.

Things to do when Your Keratin Treatment Fails

Keratin has recently surfaced as a treatment in the United States for helping to eliminate frizzy hair and relax curls. It's also known to relax waves and help control them. Originating in Brazil, it was created to help women who spent a lot of time on the beach and had to deal with hair that the higher humidity would destroy.

If you're planning to sustain your keratin treatment, you're going to have to follow some simple rules. If you don't follow these rules, chances are your keratin treatment may very well fail.

Thing to do when Your Keratin Treatment Fails

The first of these rules is to avoid salt and chlorine. If you don't want to wear a swim cap, you're going to have to keep your tresses dry and out of the beach water and swimming pools.

Many women who choose to have keratin treatments don't realise this and then wonder why their treatment isn't working. The truth is: it was working, but only right up until it was dampened with salt water or chlorinated water.

If you're going to go into the water, you may need to consider a no-sulphate, chlorine removal shampoo, and use it immediately after getting out of the water.

If you're going to be in the water frequently, be sure to speak with your stylist, and ask which keratin treatment is the right one for you. As there are a variety of treatments to choose from, the problem could simply be that you're just not getting the right treatment for the activities that you're participating in.

Keratin treatments are designed to smooth and tame the hair. However, if you're over-processing your hair or using too many products on your hair, you may find that your treatments aren't working well.

Be sure that your stylist knows what you're doing to your hair. Are you out in the sun all day long? Are you exposing your hair to salt and chlorine? If so, you may need to have more frequent treatments.

If you have blonde or grey hair, you may also have to be more mindful to what you expose your hair. You could be adding undue stress to your hair by exposing it to the wrong products or excessive heat or light, and thus causing it to turn yellow or other unnatural colours.

Lighter hair is more fragile than darker hair. This is partly due to the fragility of the lighter colour and partly because of processing times.

If you've had a keratin treatment, check with your stylist before applying any other product to your hair. It just may save your treatment. Always remember that heat, salt, chlorine and light from the sun can all affect your keratin treatment. If you're unhappy with your treatment, call your stylist and explain what you're unhappy about.

Chances are, your stylist will slightly adjust part of the treatment, recommend more frequent treatments, or suggest a product that will be more friendly to your keratin-treated hair. Remember, your hair needs nourishment just as your body does.

It would also help if you get a hair keratin treatment done by professionals from a trusted salon like Detail Woman. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and your worries are lessened. Visit us at http://www.DetailWoman.com and book an obligation-free appointment today!
